Measuring Distance On A Map

I was able to find one video.  The rest of the videos I found were focused on European and UK methods of measuring distances with scales.  I will continue to look for resources to clarify how to measure distances with a scale.  In the mean time, there will be only one video for now.

Written instructions

Here are the instructions from the merit badge manual.

1) Measure the distance on the map with the compass ruler (scale).
2) Compare the distance measured with the compass to the scale in the legend of the map.
3) Read off the corresponding ground distance from the scale of the map.
